About Us

Centre for modern living competences (CSZK) was established in 2015 in the midst of refugee crisis in Serbia, as young people from neighbourhood of the new Centre for asylum in Krnjaca, Belgrade, started to volunteer and organise activities for children/youth in the asylum centre. After seeing that refugee crises provoked discrimination towards people belonging to different cultural, religious and other minorities they also started workshops with other youngsters in order to fight xenophobia and racism. Together with refugees, our volunteers analysed challenges they face and discussed what is necessary for their inclusion in the society, so they became dedicated to idea to develop and implement workshops to give knowledge and tools to youngsters in order for them to be capable in founding and running social enterprise.
CSZK is organising following key methodologies in their work:
- NFE and inclusion youth work (both offline & online)
- intercultural and interreligious dialogue youth work
- social entrepreneurship education
The main target groups of CSZK are immigrant youth (both 2nd generation immigrants, as well as recent 1st generation immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers) in Serbia:
- Asylum seekers from the asylum centre in Belgrade - children (7-12 years old) and youngsters (13-25 years old); and
- Ex- refugees from XK, HR and BA - also, children and youngsters.
The indirect target groups are immigrant community as well as host or local community, NGOs and service providers in the process of reception, integration and adaptation of immigration.
Usually, we organise activities for mixed groups of learners, both immigrants’ background and citizens’ background children and youngsters, on a peer level in every group.
